They are sealed, and as fresh as smaller jars. The price is always better. I now buy herbs occasionally in the dollar stores. So what if they go bad before I finish them, I can get all the oregano I can use for a two month period for $1 as compared to $3.65 for enough to make one dish. Duh... Throw it away when it gets old, or sprinkle it on your coals the next time you are barbecuing, to give some added flavor to the meat and vegetables, and then spend another $1 on fresh ones.
